Ever felt unsafe walking or biking in an urban area? Unlike other navigation apps that prioritize speed and avoiding traffic, StreetWise uses real-time verified crime data from police reports to get you where you need to be both safely and efficiently.
These crimes include thefts, burglaries, assaults, shootings, vandalisms, and robberies. They are displayed on the map as different icons once you enter a destination you want to travel to. The software then calculates a danger score for each route based on the proximity to recent crime hotspots. Danger scores less than 100 are relatively safe, between 100 and 500 is moderately risky, and above 500 is significantly dangerous. While traveling you also have the option to report illegal road closures and give feedback on your route experience.
